1. Before You Come: Registration Form
To make the best use of our time together and to ensure I fully understand your health concerns, I kindly ask you to complete our registration form in advance.
Why this matters
KOSA Acupuncture is unique in that we aim to treat all of your concerns together, not just one symptom at a time. Each condition may improve at a different speed, but having a complete picture of your health allows me to create a more accurate and effective treatment plan for you.
How to complete the form
If you have a printer:
- Print the registration form from our website.
- Fill it out carefully at home.
- Bring the completed form with you to your first visit.
If you don’t have a printer:
- Download the form to your computer.
- Fill it in digitally as much as possible.
- Save the file, close it, and reopen it to make sure all your information is saved properly.
- When you are satisfied, email the completed form to us. We will have it ready when you arrive.
If you don’t have time in advance:
- You are still very welcome.
- You can fill out the form at the clinic before your treatment begins.
Taking a little time to complete this form will help me understand your story, your concerns, and your goals, so that I can serve you with the greatest care and precision.
2. Finding the Clinic and Building Access
KOSA Acupuncture is located in a three-story ivory building.
There are two main entrance doors:
- One on the north side
- One on the south side
Please be aware of the building’s locking schedule:
- Weekdays: doors lock at 6:00 PM
- Weekends: doors are locked 24 hours
If you arrive and find that the doors are locked, please call me, Master Kim, at 918-995-1100, and I will let you in.
You may not want to arrive too early, as I may still be with another patient. If you do arrive early, you may need to wait in your car, in the lobby, or in our clinic’s waiting room. Arriving just a few minutes before your appointment is usually perfect.
Arriving just a little before your appointment time is usually ideal.
3. What to Expect from the Needles
I understand that for many people, needles are the biggest worry. Let me put your mind at ease.
At KOSA Acupuncture:
- Needle insertion is very shallow.
- The depth is no more than about 1/8 inch (approximately 3 mm).
- The needles are handled very gently and carefully, so most people tolerate the treatment easily.
Even toddlers as young as two years old have received my treatment successfully, which may help you feel more comfortable about the safety and gentleness of the technique.
Most of the time, I place needles on the four limbs:
- From fingertips to elbows
- From toetips to knees
If you have specific areas of pain—such as back pain, shoulder or scapular pain, or other localized issues—you may need to expose the skin where the pain is located so I can evaluate and treat those areas properly.
What to wear
- Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that can easily be rolled up or adjusted.
- Avoid lotions or oils on the areas that may be treated; this helps keep the skin clean and makes treatment easier.
- If you prefer, you can bring your own shorts and change into them at the clinic or in the restroom.
My priority is to keep you comfortable, respected, and at ease throughout the entire process.
4. Treatment Position: Sitting, Not Lying Down
Unlike many other acupuncture clinics, at KOSA Acupuncture you will usually receive your treatment while sitting on a chair, rather than lying face down or face up on a table.
Many patients find this position:
- More comfortable
- Less anxiety‑producing, especially for first-timers
- Easier if they have mobility issues or difficulty lying flat
This approach also allows us to communicate more easily during your treatment, so you can tell me how you feel and ask questions at any time.
5. Restroom Access
There is a restroom on the first floor of the building.
If you need to use it, simply let me know, and I will gladly give you the passcode. Your comfort and basic needs are always important and never an inconvenience.
6. Wheelchair Accessibility
If you use a wheelchair, you can still receive treatment comfortably.
You are welcome to remain in your own wheelchair during your session, and I will work around your position to ensure that you can be treated safely and effectively.
Accessibility and respect for your unique situation are very important to me.
7. Needle Shock: Rare but Manageable
On very rare occasions—approximately one out of 200 patients—someone may experience what is called needle shock. This can feel like sudden lightheadedness, faintness, or a brief drop in energy.
If this happens, please know:
- It has not harmed anyone in my practice.
- I am very experienced in recognizing and managing it quickly.
- We will stop, make you comfortable, and allow your body to recover fully.
Your safety and peace of mind always come first.
8. Bring Your Questions
Your questions are always welcome.
Please feel free to:
- Write down questions in advance and bring them with you.
- Ask anything during your visit.
- Reach out later by text message, phone call, or email if new questions arise.
I will be more than glad to answer your questions with honesty and care. You deserve to understand what is happening in your body and how we are helping it heal.
9. A Thought on Health: Stay Gently Skeptical
From this moment on, I encourage you to stay healthily skeptical, especially regarding food, health claims, and quick-fix promises.
Your body is precious, and your health is too important to be guided by trends or fear. Ask questions, seek understanding, and choose what truly supports your long‑term well‑being. I am here to support you in that journey.
10. I Look Forward to Helping You Heal
If you still have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me:
- Text message
- Phone call at 918-995-1100
- Email (info@saahm.net)
I sincerely look forward to helping you become freer from pain, disorders, and dependence on medications, and to supporting your body’s natural healing ability.
Until we meet, be happy and healthy.

A Brief History of KOSA Acupuncture

While acupuncture boasts a rich history spanning thousands of years, the full utilization of its underlying theory, encompassing Yin, Yang, and the Five Elements, remained elusive for much of that time.
Approximately 400 years ago, Saahm, an ascetic with roots in Korea, made significant contributions by formulating key theories. Regrettably, this knowledge was lost until the early 1950s when the esteemed Great Great Master Rhee rediscovered Saahm’s book. He dedicated himself to studying, treating patients, and passing on this invaluable wisdom to his apprentices.
The mantle of knowledge was then passed to The Great Master Kim, succeeding his father, who not only preserved but further enriched the profound work of his predecessors. Through meticulous study and practical application, The Great Master Kim demonstrated that Saahm’s thesis was not merely an academic concept but an unparalleled healing system of great efficacy.
